It was not too long ago that I lived day by day. What I mean is that I would not worry about what happened in the past, nor would I work towards a better future.

I would get up in the morning, go to work, clock in and out, head home, go to the gym, shower, eat dinner, and then go to bed. That was my routine for the first few years of life in my first job.

But during those years, I often thought about how I could improve my life. What skills can I learn to help me get ahead? Where might I find the love of my life to build a family with? How can I take on increasing responsibility at work to get promoted and get raises?

After reading about Michael Hyatt’s Life score assessment in his best-selling book Living Forward, I used the ten areas measured in the assessment as a framework for how I would structure my quarterly life assessments.
