If you’re a management consultant looking to get promoted, I’m going to share three secrets that you probably aren’t aware of that will impact your promotion. Because of how much detail I get into, I’ve broken this into two articles. You can find part 2 with three more secrets here.

Having been on both sides of the equation (being promoted, and working with my counsellees — that’s what management calls the people they are coaching and responsible for putting forward for promotion at the end of the fiscal year — to get them promoted), I am going to focus on the things that others won’t tell you.
