Competitive Advantages for Your Career When You’re Just Starting

When I first started out, I wished I had someone tell me what I could do in the first few years of my career that would pay dividends for the rest of my career. Just like how you wish you had started investing earlier in life, after working for over a decade, I know there are things I would have done differently at the beginning of my career if only I had known.

The job market is tough out there. AI and machine learning are taking over jobs. New technology is always coming out that will replace jobs. Layoffs from tech companies that overhired during the pandemic mean a job market with a lot of competition.

You just graduated from college or university. You don’t have a lot of work experience. You may not know what it’s like to ‘work’. It doesn’t seem like you can offer anything of value to your employer — but let me share a few lessons you can learn from my career.
